Social Action Overview

Some of the ways UUFES members and friends put their faith into action:

• Letter-writing campaigns after Sunday services

• Canvassing

• Getting involved in local and state government

• Contacting senators and representatives about issues of interest or concern

• Learning how laws are made

• Testifying in Concord for transgender rights

• Supporting legislation for death-with-dignity laws

• participating in vigils for immigrant rights 

• Running for public office. Ed Butler served as State Representative for fourteen years (2006-2020) representing the Carroll 7th District (Albany, Bartlett, Chatham, Conway, Eaton, Freedom, Hale's Location, Hart's Location, Jackson, Madison, and Tamworth, and David Paige currently serves as State Rep (elected 2022)

• Marching/Protesting for justice

• Joining Veterans Stand for Standing Rock—protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota

• NH Rebellion

• Black Lives Matter

• Donating food and household supplies weekly to local food pantries

• NH UU Action
